Steele turning left?

Steele within victory....

Survey USA, 10/17/06: Cardin 46, Steele 46
Zogby Interactive, 10/16/06: Cardin 51, Steele 43
Rasmussen, 10/12/06: Cardin 53, Steele 44

The word is the national GOP is giving up on Maryland, Ohio, Montana, and NJ Senate races. Steele still has a chance in Maryland...but why are we pooling our support for a candidate who is openly retreating for everything his Party stands for? Recently Steele has said that he is FOR an assault weapons ban, would support PRO-ABORTION judges, is AGAINST NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND, and has MOCKED Bush's war in Iraq and response to Katrina.

And he has heeded the liberal media's call for the stepping down of Congressional Republican leaders in his latest ad.

What's next? A plea for Americans to adopt Clintoncare and amnesty for illegals?

Conservatives Forgetting How To Win...

Bush and Republicans in Congress werent supposed to win (according to elite pollsters & the drive by media) in 2004, remember? But they did. Bush, and for the most part Republicans running for Congress, ran the race on their strong conservative laurels. Fighting the war on terror. Tax cuts to spur the economy. Traditional Christian values America was founded on. These issues resonated with the American people because they could trust that the Republican Party would stay faithful to these commitments. More than that, Americans saw in stark contrast how Republicans were consistant. And in the age of terrorism consistancy meant trust worthiness.

Americans want more security and more freedom. No Child Left Behind, Social Security Privatization, the death of the Assault Weapons ban, and the appointment of strong conservative (anti-Affirmative Action, pro-Life) judges, and other actions of Republican leadership resonates with these sentiments.

Americans did not choose Democrats for two reasons: 1. Democrats like John Kerry flip flopped on every issue. If we were to be attacked by Osama bin Laden again, no one knew what Kerry would do? Would he ask France for advice? Consult big unions and feminist groups? 2. Democrats stood divided on their own party's platform. Some postured as pro-Life, others fled from the serious issues like the war on terrorism, while most openly mocked their own party's accomplishments such as NAFTA and welfare reform.

Republicans, we can win in many of the midterm races if we present a clear alternative to the radical left the Democrats propose. We must stand by our President, we must stand up for life, we must stand up against racist Affirmative Action policies, we must defend the 2nd amendment....we must not become Democrats-lite because that is not what the conservative base desires and that type of position will not inspire any moderates or undecideds
